static iPhone thru blue tooth

Since purchasing the iPhone 8+, the audio thru Bluetooth in the car is very static. When I switch to just the phone it is fine. Didn't do this with my last iPhone 6. Anyone else have this problem or do I have a gremlin in my car??

I get this with my grom audio bluetooth when the volume on my phone is full, turn it down a few bars and its fine...
