Looks very clean and shiney now Smile

Even ignoring operator error, the snow foam was never going to cut through all that muck.

But - I think - it certainly makes the washing easier. What do I put here then?

Try your snow foam with hot water, a 50/50 mix.. it should then be thick like shaving foam.

What foam are you using? 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

Hi guys.
Well the snow foam got another use at the weekend.

I have to say, it was an entirely different experience !
The bottle was still fairly full with foam fluid, so I simply used it with cold water.
I experimented with the Lance and finally got it to come out and stick like snow.
I left it on the car for close on an hour, and have to say I was truly astounded with the effect after pressure washing it off.
A lot of the road grime was removed along with the usual dirt.

I still gave the car a going over with the wool mit and 2 buckets. The difference was the water in the rinsing bucket stayed almost clean.

I also did the wheels, and rinsing them off was astounded at how clean they were.
So much so that I even dragged the wife out to show her Laughing
I gave the front wheels a wipe over as well, but to be honest they didn't need it.

So all in all I am converted. The car looked great, even without the need to give it an aqua wax afterwards.

Oh. I am using autobrite direct magifoam, the normal one, not the blue one. Too many toys, not enough time

I think if anything it looked even thicker / lumpier than that.

I did my van afterwards and mixed with warm water. That came up pretty good too despite rain washing some of it off.

I think in the past maybe I have been in too much of a hurry and not left it on long enough.
That and not managed to get it to come out like snow before.

I have no idea if one type is better than another, I just went with what seemed to be popular. Too many toys, not enough time

Bilt Hamber Auto foam is fantastic stuff
You need to get the dilution correct @ 4- 5% panel impact ratio by working out you pressure washers output - it comes with written instructions but you basically need to fill the snowfoam bottle with a litre of water , the by discharging via the pressure washer into a suitable container until the litre bottle is empty.
Then work out 4-5% of the total . This is the quantity you the add to the snow foam attachment before mixing wth water

It is only a pre wash though - to be followed by the 2 bucket method if you want a clean car , but it’s the best I’ve tried and quite economical at sub 20quid for 5l delivered - 4.2 SC - sold , now bought back

Another vote for Bilt Hamber Autofoam, it actually works and isn't silly money.
If you really want to clean your paintwork before proper prepping (i.e. machine polish followed by wax) then I recommend Bilt Hamber's Surfex HD but it's not something you'd use regularly. Surfex HD is also really really good on the underside of your Fattie once winter is over - use a 90 degree pressure lance to leave the underside looking nice and clean.
I also like Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax once your car is clean and polished, and Sonax BSD for a quick detail.
