Interesting, my 2007 has climate seats front and rear, does that make a difference?

Climate seats make no difference as they don't have AC circuits in them, just some clever peltier cells.

As I understand it, with 4 zone AC there is additional pipework and a separate evaporator unit for the rear cabin, hence the larger refrigerant volume.

You can tell if you have 4 zone by seeing what the controls are on the rear of the centre console. If you have 3 dials and the 2 outer ones have temperatures then you have 4 zone AC.

@ cheezels - as you say you have 2 dials then you must have 2 zone AC.

What got me questioning myself was the amount of Freon recovered equaled the amount for a 4 zine vehicle.

There is an easy reference point... If your car has a 1” deep arm rest cubby box then it has 2 X aircon fitted

All the gubbins gets hidden under there and you loose your cubby box
