3.6TDV8 Idle and Stall

I have a question:

My 2008 3.6TDV8 has a weird problem. Regularly, when I start it, the idle stays at 500rpm and the engine does not react to the accelerator. Just switching it off and straight away back on, generally helps.

I also experienced that, in slow traffic, the engine speed will start to go up and down without reason and the engine will suddenly stall.

Anyone has any clues on where this comes from?
