What do you use to keep your battery full when you are away for a while (i.e. at the airport)

What type of Solar Battery Maintainer have you been using please (either for L405, L322 and P38as please)?

I tried one a few years ago, but probably didn't give out enough to keep things tickety boo. From memory was a Maplins jobby.

Best advice I have seen (member: Nice Day For It) is to wire up a second battery, then disconnect the main one before leaving the car. reconnect on return and all should be well.

My TDV8 has a jump pack in the boot permanently... Sometimes it will do 2 or 3 weeks without starting! Sometimes half a week down and it plays up!

Always carry my jump pack in the boot its pulled me out of the on a number of occasions. I just top up the charge about once a month. The worst thing about being retired is you miss out on all the bank holidays

i have a cheap trickle charger like the one in your pic. Sits on the parcel shelf and plugged into the boot socket. Had it since I bought the car almost 4 years ago and never had a battery problem?
Maybe I shouldn't have said that ??

Not saying it works, just not had any problems and was only £12 off a well known auction site Not Galway but Balmoral green actually

I have a small one

Incredible for the size of it, but don’t think it would start a FFRR from a completely dead battery though - but would from a partially discharged one.
It has started my Mini from absolutely dead (lights left on) and it started first time.

For the size and weight of it, I think it’s a great addition to the boot - mines a Floureon

Mr tee sorry for the late reply, I use the Clarke 4000 heavy duty jump starter its big and heavy but starts the SC when the battery is down with ease. I like Craig got it from Machine Mart. The worst thing about being retired is you miss out on all the bank holidays
