Supercharged Spec

Gents,

I'm about to purchase a 2006 my Supercharged, just wanted to ask about spec, I really like the idea of cooled seats. The car I'm buying has duo tone seats with perforated leather, does that mean they are cooled? How does the cooling work, is there a button or is it automatic if you have the aircon on? Does perforated seats mean that it's going to be cooled seats, or are the perforations available without cooling?

Any problems with 110k on a 2005 Supercharged? Of course lower mileage would be preferable, but also much more expensive, personally I'd rather take the mileage and have the Supercharged, rather than a lower mileage TD6!

Also is there anywhere I can get full spec list for the car?

Thanks in advance. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

My 07 Supercharged came fully loaded - I don't think one could actually order any extras other than dealer fit stuff like towbars and sidesteps. So it should have everything (satnav, rear seat entertainment, bluetooth, etc).

Perforated leather indicates cooled seats, I believe. There should be knobs on the centre console. Twist to the left for cooling, right for heating (blue leds light for the cooling, red for heating). Cooling blows cold air up your "rusty sheriff's badge". Mildly disconcerting but some people pay good money up West for that.

I naively thought the seat perforations indicated cooled seats, realise now I was wrong. But I'm pretty much decided on this 55 car now. I don't really want to spend an extra £6-10k to get cooled seats, terrain response (which I'll never need although I do intend to offroad), and slightly updated interior.

I'm pretty happy with what I'll be getting, duo tone leather, almost mint car, and I'm getting LPG installed! Decided to take the plunge, I figure worst case I'll get valve seat regression, but I think it unlikely since they'll use flashlube, plus an injected lubracant! I think the horror stories from Supercharged LPG conversions relate to earlier ones, where they didn't know about the lack of hardened heads, and incompetent fitters who didn't realise the need for a fuel return line for Supercharged vehicles.

Either way I'll have a one year warranty on the car, and a two year warranty on the LPG conversion.

Anybody live in the Windsor area willing to come and give the car a final check over? Bow down Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

I don't think the air cooled seats arrived until the interior facelift. So, you can get up to a 55 plate in the UK with the old interior and no cooled seats.

Personally, I think the newer interior is worth the extra, especially the newer colourways. Discovery 4 HSE

Mine has the cooled seat and I have to say I don't use it as it feels really odd!

A/C is great, I like the fact you can use the timed-climate to heat or cool the car as well

2007 facelift is definitely a lot better imho, I'd certainly pay the extra to go to a 2007 adn everything that comes with it.

In terms of options, as Emp. Mong said, Vogue SE spec means S/Cs get pretty much everything.

Have a look at my For Sale ad for my s/c and that lists pretty much everything so might be useful to you.
