The forward front lower arms (LR113306 and LR113307) of the L405 have quite a bit of flex in the large bush. When you grab the arm and pull/push on it, don't mistake this flex for play. Wink

Don't ask me why I have a spare set of lower arms in my shed Embarassed

The rearward front lower arms (LR113282 and LR113305) are much more solid.

Concerning the separator tool, I didn't have to use one at all. Two taps with a dead blow mallet and the ball joints separated extremely easily. Kev

Thank you for the part numbers. If you were on this side of the pond I'd ask if you wanted to part with them. I think I will order from FCP Euro for the lifetime warranty.

I guess best course of action is see where its coming from. I'd suspect if its the front its the LCA and rear its the CVjoint/driveshaft? Do the rear arms go bad that often? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I don't think you can be as conclusive as that. Clicking when turning is usually a CV joint. Kev

Im getting ready to order LCA's. I'm at 46k miles so its probably a good idea I do them anyway with the new sway bar bushings.

Should I be replacing the front "rearward" LCAs also at the same time.....or just the font "forward" LCAs? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

Step 1 replacing the sway bar bushings. How are you supposed to get to the nut I’m pointing to? I’ve removed the 3 bolts from the bracket that hold the sway bar to the frame. It allows a little movement but per the pic that’s as far as it moves forward. The front nut on the bushing bracket is easy to get to. How do you get access to the rear nut? You don’t have to disconnect from the tie rods etc and drop the sway bar do you? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I was able to get just enough room to get a spanner on it by using a 2ft flathead to pry the back down.

Not the most fun job in the world but sway bar bushings are done. Passanger side was way worse then driver side. In fact I probably could have re-used the driver side

Clicking still present. next are all 4 LCAs once they come in from FCP.

Then if clicking still there….if to the dealer for CV joint/drive shaft

PS the clicking is coming from the front….but it sounds equally as loud on both the left and right side if I stand outside the car and listen as it is turned left. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

All 4 LCAs just replaced plus new sway bar bushings put in a few weeks ago. THe foreard LCA were toast....I could easily move the balljoint around....the rearward facing I actually probably could have kept in.

results:

- No more clunk turning into/entering the apron of my driveway
- no more “ticking” sound from front passenger when turning left (originally though the drive axle was the issue).....Not sue if the new control arms are masking a drive shaft issue..but not sure how I would tell.....just glad its not ticking any more.
- my steering wheel since I bought it with 31k on it always was ever so slighty to the left from perfectly center….wheel is now perfectly
center. Wasn’t expecting This but not complaining.
- steering is very tight and handling feels improved.
- No more sway/wobble side to side that I was experiencing before this upgrade
- Have not received the “vehicle lean when cornering” error on the dash since the upgrade. Granted it’s still early

edit: actually....I thought I still heard a slight clunk going over my driveway apron......but it was very subtle. My guess is if I still have it it could be the rear control arms. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC
