Hi,

The lower tailgate “loom” connects to the main loom via a horizontal plug in the middle of the car, as you look down when the lower tailgate is open.

My wire was broken in part of the lower tailgate loom where all the wiring is together, not on the fabric part where it’s just the two wires for the sensor.

I also checked continuity with a “beep” holding on the anti pinch sensor pin and touching on each pin on the unplugged main look connector plug. One wire was fine, and the pin next to it is the second wire, which wasn’t fine.

13A444 is the lower tailgate loom if required.

Cheers

Ah - thanks - I only got as far as the 2 wires bit & gave up when it seemed to join a thicker loom.

It's raining now so further investigation is on hold Smile

Well, some progress but no solution yet.

I unravelled the loom & found the break. It was on the external part that sits in-between the tailgate & the wheel well. Soldered it up, tested the continuity & reassembled.

However, it still won't close Big Cry So I cleared the faults & tried again, but still no luck.

The live data is still showing an open circuit on the right anti-pinch sensor. If I swap the connector over and attach the right sensor to the left cable, then it shows the left as open circuit. There is a voltage reading now on the right connector where there wasn't previously.

Conclusion - I need a new sensor too. It seems a huge coincidence - unless something to do with the cable snapping managed to cause the sensor to fail.....
