Particles

Following a beaten up Ford belching smoke - made me wonder how good the cabin air filters are on a FFRR

This article didn’t give me any confidence- didn’t mention Range Rover, but the sister Jaguar didn’t come out that well.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I don't know if this is related, but somebody in work said that the new discovery is that Aircon is not good for us. Can't remember where she got the info from. One of my work colleagues can't use his aircon or it makes him very ill. Perhaps its time to don a paper mask when driving Rolling with laughter

AirCon dries the air & some people do not cope very well with dry air.
AirCon needs to be serviced & sanitised otherwise bacteria can build up.

As for particulates from diesels I read a study/report ages ago (but, although I saved it I cannot find it) that looked at the size of particulate matter that your own body can filter out (i.e. your nose) & it basically said that "if you can see it, your nose will filter it - if you cannot see it then it goes straight into your lungs".

Makes you wonder about the harm the city cyclists are doing to themselves when they are peddling at a speed they have to breath through their mouths ? 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6
