Hi All

I have just replaced the rear disks, shoes and pads on my RR. I noted the disks we very tight going over the new EPB shoes although I had used my IID to put the EPB in the latching position.

I applied the EPB a couple of times to centre up the shoes and the disks do rotate, although it does feel like there is some rubbing.

When I try to adjust the shoes I can only get 6 turns on the adjuster on the Passenger side and 3 turns on the driver side so I can't then loosen the adjusters off 8 turns as per the instructions.

Do In need to run the bedding in procedure before I adjust the shoes?

Currently the EPB will not hold the RR if it is in drive on a flat road. 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

I'd say there's something mechanically wrong that needs to be fixed - either the adjuster isn't winding in enough to give you the 8 click back-off and freely rotating discs or the shoes (or discs) you have are fitted incorrectly or are out of spec.

Probably not good news, but you need to fix it before you can run the bedding in procedure (which you need to do after replacing the shoes or discs).

Disks are brembo and shoes are Pagid. I know it is not a problem with the pads as I have tried rotating the disks without the pads in place.

Adjusted are fully wound back and re-greased.

I have now sorted the issue with my rear EPB and though I should update the post in case anyone else has a similar issue.

Once I stripped down the rear brakes I noted that the corrosion on the back plates was so bad that the retaining clips/springs were popping back out and not holding the shoes in place. This was causing the shoes to sit on the inside of the disc/drum and reducing the movement available on the shoes.

I replaced the springs and clips with some M4 stainless bolts and springs, ensuring the shoes were still free to move. Once back together I was able to get the required number of turns on the adjusters. After following the adjustment procedures for the EPB I now have an EPB that holds and operates as I would expect 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Those darn backplates and retaining pins...  .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
