TPMS Sensor Reset ?

I had my winter tires mounted that where used on my 2013 L405. My 2016 L405 gives an error that there is a system fault on the TPMS. On my way to a ski trip in Austria I checked in at the LR dealer in Salzburg who was very nice and hooked my RR up to the computer, at no charge. It gave an error on all four wheels indicating TPMS problems.

The dealer told me that TPMS sensors can only be fitted once to a car, which does not sound very logical.

Is there anybody who knows how to reset the TPMS sensors so the car thinks that new TPMS sensors where mounted rather than having to put in 4x new TPMS sensors on my winter tires ?

Thanks ! Land Rovers that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

Did you just have your tyres mounted on the same wheels ?

Or did you mount 2013 wheels onto a 2016 car ?

JLR changed the TPMS sensors part way through 2016, so depending on the age of your car, you may well need the new sensors.

The car should automatically detect new sensors - assuming they are compatible Wink

I mounted my wintertires on rims that I used on my MY2013 to the MY2016 L405. So if the TPMS sensor technology changed between the 2013 and 2016 car I guess it makes sense the car gives an error.

I must have misunderstood from the Austrian dealer that the TPMS sensors could only be mounted once to a car, that did not seem logical to me.

I guess than one question remains: where to get MY2016 TPMS compatible sensors, how are they indicated, with a version number or something?

You will need new TPMS sensors for the tires. So quite annoying but true. Land Rovers that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:
