Third party sat nav

I've been using Waze recently and it's so much better than the installed nav system, but I can't figure out where to put it.

I'm generally streaming music from my phone, so the audio instructions work well, but leaving the phone in a cup holder isn't great for looking at the map occasionally.

I might need to invest in a new device as my phone seems a little small - and my iPad seems a little OTT (but I quite like it)

Anyone else moved away from the built in nav system ?

Screen clarity on my iPad mini4 is brilliant and much handier than a full size iPad.
I have seen a small version of an iPad Pro, but not able to justify an upgrade at present.

Laughing I suppose it's the obvious answer to phone to small iPad to big Thumbs Up

I'll keep my eye out for a mini & give it a try

Alistair, I got one of these for 99p and it sits nicely in my (L322) air vent ( and cools it at the same time!)

A mini iPad is better for the map but I find the waze map perfectly readable on mine.

Just has a small magnet which sticks on the back (but won’t work if u have a phone protector case fitted)

Same here, Waze is great with up to date info, so use it all the time.

I bought one of these https://www.halfords.com/technology/mobile...dash-mount and stuck it just below the audio knob. Current MY2020
Gone: 1 x L405 and 2 x L322's

Looks neat, will see how I get on with the 99p one but if I go for an I-ad mini then I guess a better mount will be required

I like Waze from time to time (agree it’s a better system) and more importantly like to put the phone in a safe place to charge instead of rattling around in the cup holder.

I spent a bit more.. £7.99 from Amazon iAmotus brand, no link to give you, but still for sale. Same principle as your one except the amazon one has an easy button to allow the phone to fit in then close the arms..No idea if yours does or doesn’t. The screw tightens the claw onto the vent..l nothing is perfect especially if under a tenner... but it’s ok

So.. if the eBay one isn’t quite right.. try the amazon version , I’m also sure u will see them in Halfords or the like. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
