Discounts on MY19

My weakness regarding upgrading to the latest thing with cars is pushing me to want to change my MY14.5 5.0 Autobiography (which is still perfect in every way) for a new SVA AB Dynamic. I was going to try and hold out for the next completely new model as my current RR has really low mileage but the risk of the new one not having a V8 and circa 4 more years being a long time to wait I am looking to change now.

My question is, what kind of discounts are people hearing about at the moment? Is there anything at all to be had on an SVA?

Try CarWow. That will give you an idea of what is achievable. In my experience, you can then get better by going to your local dealer and asking them to better that - but only if you place an order the same day.

Totally agree......

You might have to use a Dealership further away from where you live but it is well worth it.

I used Carwow for my order and used Matfords of Exeter and I live in Cardiff.

Stratstone Cardiff, Swansea and Newport were not interested and gave nothing off the SVA-D and wanted to give me way less for my SVR than Exeter did, even though I had bought the car from Stratstone Newport and the previous 3 new Range Rovers from them. Shopping around is definitely the way forward and Dealership loyalty has to go out the window to get the best deal. Thumbs Up

Car wow gives a 7k discount so far. Maybe I will get some more offers from them tomorrow on a proper working day.

Normally I would not be bothered about buying from a dealer far away but with LR there is always a chance that one will get a complete dud of a car and if it needs rejecting it will be more hassle with a remote dealer. If the saving is material though I guess I would take the risk.

Sorry for the slight off-topic (I couldn't possibly advise regarding discounts to be had in the UK, being based in France).
@Lyonhead: how does the SVDynamic compare with your previous SVR?

Hi CSK,

I’m sorry but I can’t give a report yet as I’m still waiting on handover. Car was ordered February and I was told last Friday that it was built and in SVO having bits done. Hopefully won’t be much longer and I’ll put my thoughts on the forum.

You’re right to move now as I think we can guarantee that there’ll be nothing like the V8’s next time around and if there’s anything radically new, it’ll need at least two years Beta testing by customers until it’s proven and the dealer’s have built up some familiarity with fixing any of the issues.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on Thumbs Up

If it's any help I got nearly £6k " dealer discount" on a £100k new order, without even asking! It just appeared on the summary invoice. I suspect all CarWow does is to pass on the same dealer discounts and make it look like a "real" discount. Spec up what you want and see what they offer!

Rockar were the best offer when I looked at Carwow. They were offering £7K off a few days ago.

This gives me something to work from. I will just have to phone around various dealers and see what the interest is.

From the comments on this forum it seems like it's a 6 month wait for an SVAD so I don't suppose dealers will be falling over themselves to give much off. Sad

Might also depend on other factors, like how close to target they are, how much work they have to do, whether you take finance etc.

I'd imagine an end of month/quarter/financial year timeframe - customer who knows the exact spec they want - and signing up for finance would likely get a better deal than someone who rocks up wanting a test drive.

Bulk helps too - if you know anyone else in the market. We ordered 3 at once and got a very hefty discount due to the fact that three brand new Range Rovers in a week was over their target Smile Land Rover Addict
