Ahh so there is a part missing.. bother!

That means the one I have for my AMG Merc would fit.. if only I can find a holder then!

From what I have seen 2G is expected to outlive 3G.. but maybe we are reading different bits of the internet! Or equally unreliable bits!

Phone is no problem - as I say got one of those for use in the built in phone kit in my AMG.. so would mean I can then use it in both.. result!

Actually.. wonder how the cradle in the Merc connects... Hmmmm

It was a rubbish solution btw - bluetooth was actually better. All the cradle gave was annoying text messages on the screen ...... I think I probably plugged mine in twice!! Land Rover Addict

I have this set up in my SL and put my regular phone on call forward. No blue tooth in the Merc.

I hope the 6210 doesn't become outdated overnight otherwise I'll have to spend fortunes on a Visseo. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

Just curious but does anyone know how to remove that phone cradle altogether to turn that space into a storage area?

On our 2006 tdv8 it was just a matter of opening the main cubby lid & removing the 6 torx screws that hold the top piece with the phone holder.
Then lift it up so you can get to the 4 screws that hold the phone cradle connector & the wiring connector.
Once removed you can put the cubby top piece back, but you will have a couple of inch square hole between the top & lower cubbys.
I filled the hole with a piece of convenient dense foam.
At least the top section is now large enough to hold my Samsung Galaxy phone .
I'll add a photo later. Paul,

OE Phone Cradle Removal 2007 MY

Rather than totally hijack this thread, I've added a fast write up of removing the phone cradle on my vehicle post at http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post492822.html#492822.

We have a 2003 which has the same phone and it is still unused in the car. I'll take some pics at the weekend. I don't think it's a Nokia and it takes the old mega big SIM cards! I did put a SIM card in it once but never got it to work!

I think my cheap tracker works on the 2g network.
Does anyone know of one that works on other networks?
Mike.
