Recommended dealers to buy an L322?

Conscious that I already have a 'Wanted' thread running in an attempt to find a private sale; I'm also looking at dealers which is obviously the source for the vast majority of cars available.

Any recommendations for good dealers to look at?
I have found some vehicles that look good on the internet, but put off by bad dealer reviews and rough looking premises.

Any reports of the Vogue Centre (old thread on here indicated nobody had really heard of them, but they have plenty for sale)?

There are a couple of LR Approved L322's, is it worth paying a premium for these?

Thanks

I was quite impressed with The Vogue Centre, it does look a bit rough with no fancy showroom but you pay for that. They do have a good selection which is why I looked there so that I could compare a few back to back. Also offered me the best trade in for mine. While we were there looking he took 2 phone calls from dealers offering him very late models which he took so it seams he has good sources so a good turnover of stock. I did not buy there in the end but it was a very useful visit.

LR approved 322's ? where would they be -- I've not seen any...........

Anyway -- there is more detail on Vogue Centre -- it's in a thread here somewhere, chap with cash and folk there not really interested in helping etc.

You could always try James French -- they have a very good reputation, or E H Douglas, who are also very reputable. Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

LR Approved, one at Lloyd Group Landover and one at LR Bristol. They're on Autotrader.

Thanks for your steer on dealers, appreciated.

Lavazza,

I see what you mean -- I thought you were looking at LR approved used -- the one at Lloyd is approved by them, but not on the LR site -- not sure what the difference is between dealership approved and LR approved though.

I was going to try the Vogue Centre and pretty sure someone off here recommended them, they'd had an excellent experience. James French have an autobiography that I really want to buy, but it's a bit rich I think.

The James French recommendation was a good steer. Their Vogue SE looks really nice - spoke to them and they were very helpful.
The Autobiography does look very nice too - but more than I'd like to pay for that mileage when the SE has all the spec I need.

I looked on the link to Gary Elliott, but doesn't appear to have anything available at the moment.

Thanks for the responses.

I was in the same boat 12 months ago but ended up buying an L322 privately as the two year Approved LR Warranty could be transferred over to the next private buyer. Despite assurances from dealers, all the warranty small print I read on their aftermarket warranty policies didn't provide the same level of cover/breakdown/MOT failure as the approved LR one.

I know my 5L V8 I'm selling soon isn't what you're after but all I'd say is to not discount private sales which have a decent amount of LR warranty remaining; for me they were "worth" more than a second-hand dealer car!

Good luck finding the right fit though.

Just to update the thread - yesterday, I agreed to buy an L322 Westminster from Guy Salmon LR in Bristol. It's Orkney Grey and Ivory on 53k miles.
I'm pleased with my choice and looking forward to collection soon.

Thanks to those who have taken the time to post on this thread. I'll be sticking around on the forum!

Will do, but I don't physically have it yet since it's being treated to a new set of tyres and brakes.

Pics to follow, maybe next weekend.
