Blame on China
Brexit
Diesel uncertainty

I suggest reason might also be closer to home

Govt screwed up there as diesel's now cannot be compared to diesels a few years back.
I also blame the Daily Mail....for lots of things Censored 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
New Defender D300 90 on order so "Rory" will be going to a new home....!

Are we on comitted to not selling any internal combustion cars in 20 years or so.....

By which time all our current cars will be scrap anyway. JLR need to get a wiggle on with electric. Good though the I pace is reported to be its one model in a range of many.

Diesel cars are on their way out. Fact. Doesn’t matter if we agree with it or not, or if they are cleaner or not, they are going along with petrol. So power train focus needs to be on electric and hybrid tech.

Is it the fault of the Daily Snail...... well isn’t pretty much everything wrong with this country today. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I thought there were still waiting lists for LR products, so what are they basing this on?

I can see why people might stop buying them given their pretty terrible reliability ratings and poor customer service. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Is that just this little speck of an island though? What about the rest of the developing world who don't give a chuff surely there will be a market for combustion engines for a while yet?

Couldnt agree more. The govt have wiped out sales with the stroke of a pen. Serves them right if the major players pack up and clear off to other Countries to make vehicles....sud all to do with Brexit.

It's the uncertainty on the way forward with all the Manufactures.

Intending to buy a new car for the other half, but really unsure which way to go, petrol, Hybrid or electric. How long will the current hybrid or electric models last before they change them again.

Probably go for petrol, as I can just see issues with electric & her Rolling with laughter

Thumbs Up

JLR are also to blame, there was a deluge of devils fuel propaganda , and not a single word from JLR to rebuff the claims nor hilight the advantages of diesel.

Jlr’s Investment and ours has been damaged due to their PR ineptitude & laziness . Head of PR needs a new job! Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

These figures are interesting because in North America, or more specifically the US, Land Rover sales have consistently and steadily increased year-over-year since 2009 (i.e. ever since the recovery from the 2008 Financial Crisis). Land Rover's US market share has also steadily increased every year since 2008. They continue to sell incredibly well here and are more popular than ever.

I'm renovating a house at the moment and I've run a 6mm cable for an electric car charger at the front - even though I have no plans to buy one anytime soon, it seems inevitable.

thats forethought and planning Alistair, I might do that on my new house given I can pretty much do anything I want as its a ground up build.

With a bit of extra planning I could wire in some solar panels to a charger, Whistle , or I could just put the wire in and drive the diesels into the ground just to prove a point. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
