SC AB Dynamic Test Drive

Hi Everyone

So I have been in a bit of a quandary recently as I cant make my mind up over a Supercharged RR or a RRS SVR so thought a decent run in the RRS would help make my decision for me.

But after a test drive of the RRS SVR, and kindly from my local dealer for a full day, I have not convinced myself its the correct vehicle for me so I returned it to the dealer and thanked them very much.

I then asked about the RR SC Autobiography Dynamic and a possible drive of one to be told they nor any other dealer would have one and LR could not supply one for a test drive Shocked

Now considering they start at £145k or there about's are LR saying I should just buy one and be happy without having driven one Question

Did those that own one have a test drive first or just buy blind please and if a test drive where did you source the vehicle Question "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Farnells in Leeds have one on LRAU described as a demo. Not cheap and bright orange, but would give you an idea how it drives. There are two others, one also Leeds, in case they are more suitable. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I would write to LR MD and say you were going to buy one (RR SC AB DYN) but as LR couldn't supply a test drive, you have bought a Bentley Bendover as 1. They could arrange a test drive....2. It beat the FF sport in the fifth gear test.. err 3. they know how to do customer service!!

Then wish him good luck in saving his company from Administration! Rolling with laughter

So sent Farnells an email via the LR site and hey, got a reply back in 15 mins but the reply did not answer my very specific questions or even came close Rolling Eyes Exclamation Rolling Eyes

I specifically said I was interested to know if either of the SC ABV DYN were available for a test drive and if I liked it then I would look to place a new order and wait the lengthy wait time unless they had one on order that was spec amendable - the reply is as follows;

Your enquiry is very important to us, therefore to offer the best advice could you please kindly answer a few questions below?
1. What equipment and/or options are the most important to you in your new vehicle?
2. We have a wide range of vehicles available for immediate delivery. When are you thinking of purchasing?
3. Is this the only vehicle that you are interested in, or would you consider an alternative if we could offer significant savings?
4. We welcome part exchange. If you have a trade in we do recommend visiting us to have your vehicle professionally appraised by our Sales Manager, ensuring we are able to maximise how much we can offer you. Please supply the details of any part exchange, including make, full model, mileage and registration number.

Please Farnells, just answer the question and let me then make arrangements to come drive one and place an order thereafter if I like it enough Exclamation "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.

Useless b**tards.

You’d think they’d pay more - ie lots - of attention to an enquiry like yours. What do I put here then?

I'd have just gone old school and rung the dealer and spoken to someone, saves waiting for a reply to an email that appears to be automated anyway.
If you go on Farnells ex-demo tab it shows 2 RR SVR 575s for sale, however of you go on their used car tab (sort one any make but with highest price first) there are 4 available between £174k - £200k (one of them however has 1,700 miles on it). I see they also have around 10 RR Sport SVRs of which 2 have non-delivery miles on them. Steve

I had the same problem, no assistance from local dealer when I asked about test driving one. In the end decided to go used old shape but bought that unseen and never having driven one. However on the basis it looks better, sounds better and is a petrol I thought I would enjoy it more than the sdv8 I was trading up from. As it happens I think it’s fantastic and am very happy. Oddly it rides better which I wasn’t expecting plus is much faster, handles brilliantly, stays flat where the sdv8 would roll and is all round a lot of fun. Mpg not great but now I don’t have to handle diesel.

LR should designate a few dealers as svo specialists - bit like Mercedes-Benz did when the sls was around

Been told JLR are issuing accreditation’s for SV approved dealers. Some dealers are ordering SVA’s for showroom and won’t sell them until they can replace them with another one (part of the rules of accreditation). I’ve had to buy before I try too but after reading others experiences here am relaxed that I will like it when it comes.

The only thing not to like is the depreciation!
