Engine light :( EGR related fault code P0406-22

Hi
yesterday and today I have started to get the engine light on start up.

IID Tool indicates fault code P0406-22 EGR "sensor A circuit hight - General signal failure - signal amplitude>maximum".

Both EGRs have been unplugged for about 2 years after I fitted emulators. The EGRs are disabled in the closed position.

Any advice on this fault would be appreciated.

thanks, Peter ______________________________

Tkanks for the replies. I’ll swap the emulators and see if the fault moves to the other EGR. ______________________________

Well I’m not sure about a faulty emulator.

I ran the IID tool again and fault appeared as before. I swapped them over, ran the IID tool and it bought up the same fault, initially. Then cleared the fault and now fault doesn’t return.

I’m thinking another intermittent fault. ______________________________

Posted too soon.

The original fault code came up, cleared that. Then a new fault code appeared to replace the old code.

“P140B-22 (2E) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor C - circuit high - General signal failure - signal amplitude>maximum”

Cleared that and faults hon for now. ______________________________

I’m starting think this is just a case of gunked up sensors. May need to take out pollen filter housing for a look around. ______________________________
