Happy to be proven writing there, even if I stand by the idea that the true successor to the D4 should have been the ‘5.

If the Defender 2 really does take the place of the D4, does that mean that there’s no true Defender replacement? Probably.

Considering that the Defender’s natural market place either no longer exists (military), or has been irretrievably lost (farmers and true utility), it makes a lot of sense.

There was never a chance of a company like LR trying to compete against the cheaper pickups which make up the global utility sector - but a Wrangler is £43k+ in the UK, and twin cabs go beyond £40k nowadays.
