Remote re-sync

Hi,
Can any of you clever guys help. The remote needs re-syncing on my 2002 Vogue. Can I use the key alone to to lock the car which will set the alarm, then unlock it and disable the alarm or do I need to use the remote. At the moment I can't lock the car.

Thanks guys

Hi Stan,

Many thanks for reply. I have ordered a couple of new cases for the remote as mine is not looking good, so will swap all of the innards into that and go for that re-sync process..... thank you.

My 04 vogue locks with the key - one anti clockwise turn - opens with the remote! When you change over the innards make sure you don't lose the little triangular piece of plastic - you will be fooked without it. Never been brave enough to attempt a resync - my engine would probably fall out.

Hi Bruno22rf

Thanks for your help, thats what I don't want to risk. If I lock it up with the key it will set the alarm, what I don't know is will it disarm the alarm if I unlock with the key. Remotes are great when they work but as I understand from the book you can only disarm the alarm and unlock with the remote.
The case on my remote has collapsed on the 'Lock' button and is difficult to get the thing to work hence its neer impossible to try and re-sync. Have two new cases on way and hope this helps, but so annoying.

Cheers
