MOSTBUS Fibre Optic Signal Fault

So, I have the common MOSTBUS Fibre Optic Signal Fault. The head unit touch screen is frozen with the LR logo and the power button is flashing amber. I have done some research on the forums and on youtube and last weekend diagnosed the fault as the MOSTBUS fibre optic signal. I suspect it is the amplifier (or at least what I think is the amplifier) and that it has water ingress issues. The boot carpet lining is damp in that area and you can visibly see minor rust on what I think is the amplifier

I need some further help though, so hopefully I'm in the right place!

I am struggling to identify all of the ICE modules in the boot (hence why I'm not sure if it's the amplifier). My car is a 2007 Supercharged FFRR. Can anybody help me identify the components in the picture below;

I have no idea what the 3 modules are at the bottom of the image? I think the bottom right is the amplifier, tucked in behind and low down?

I have pulled the connectors for the fibre optic. There is no red light/signal coming form the module in the bottom middle of the image. There is a red light/signal coming from the Phone module which feeds it, but I don't know what module is next on the circuit, I suspect it's what I think is the amplifier, but I can't follow the route of the fibre optic cable.

Is there a guide anywhere on here for removing trim on the boot area that will give me full access to all of the ICE modules?

I would really appreciate anybody's help with this. Once I've established what the fault is and fixed that then I'll have to start looking into where the water ingress is coming from! Big Cry

Thanks in advance! Thumbs Up

Stan - thanks for the link! I've already seen that thread and there is some useful information. Instead of making my own Loop, I'm going to buy one instead. However I am still unable to identify the different modules and work out how to remove necessary trim, so hopefully someone else can advise?

I had exact same issue I had a leak coming from the gps aerial on the roof a common issue also check around rubber boot seal and the top right corner of seal also silicone up around the upper tailgate brackets that fix to the body water gets in here. I bet you it’s the bluetooth module just bypass that first if not it’s probably the TMC module good luck. Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 SVO Stying Pack

Thanks for your advice Jaysta!

I'll look into the leak at the weekend, hopefully it's the bluetooth phone module as you suggest. Looking through the WM I couldn't find a diagram showing that the TMC module is part of the MOSTBUS system?

Hi mate the TMC is on the most loop as are the following Main head unit touch screen , radio receiver behind the main head unit screen, CD player , rear entertainment module, TMC, TV , Amp, Bluetooth module. I bet you anything its the Nokia bluetooth module that's took the water ingress if so you can pick up a newer module off eBay they are better and an easy install to. You deffo need to catch the source of the leak and good old Land Rover thought it was excepable to issue customers with a water shredder in the electrical compartment to protect equipment but this didn't stop the leak.Check your spare wheel well also for water ingress another common fault. Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 SVO Stying Pack

Thanks Stan & Jaysta!

So the TMC is the module in the bottom left of my picture? I'm guessing that the other two I'm unsure of are the SDARS receiver, with the Amplifier tucked in behind & below?

The TMC module is on the bottom left side, the TV receiver module will be the one at the front in the middle and I believe the amp is behind it.

TMC is part of the MOST system, check the fuse for the TMC, if it's blown then it will stop the whole system from working, as per the symptoms you have got. Happened to me a few years ago.

Yes check fuse 22 its for the TMC module. The amp is behind the TMC module and to the right of TMC module is the rear entertainment module the TV module is behind that. Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 SVO Stying Pack

Used a MOST bypass loop and diagnosed the Nokia Bluetooth module as the faulty unit. Ordered one off the bay at so waiting to install that. So glad to have the ICE back up and running. Due to the position of the module, I'm surprised it's prone to water damage?

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I'll get onto the source of the leak next.
