England 2002 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Giverny Green

Thank you all for your very positive feedback on my original post.
If I'd known the facts about container ship emissions as pointed out by bishbosh10 I could have used it as the final knockout punch (metaphorically speaking).

As for his comments about green cars. Harsh! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks for trying to put a bit of balance in her life. It’s very tempting to give a load of stick, but it’s better to educate and convert Thumbs Up

I have a family, eat meat, drive a supercharged V8, buy other cars frequently and therefore contribute to global warming massively. Yet not once did anyone thank me for the heatwave last summer.

Only just joined the forum but had to come in here and say hello to the OP. I did a massive double take when I looked at your post because:

I'm called Rupert
I live in Baldock
Had a TVR since 2009

(Don't have a FFRR yet though)

I’m being accosted as we speak by the tree huggers. Forum in FT today discussing JLR story

My throw away line is, I planted 5000 trees , my carbon footprint is a minus .... Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993

I am very efficient, I have 15 liters in 4 cars.... most people would need 10.

I also don’t use a drop of diesel ! 2011 Stornaway Grey 5.0SC Autobiography

Well, since I’ve sold my 6.9 litre V8 Trans Am my supply of carbon credits has increased massively, so I’ll happily lend them temporarily to anyone who wants to win an argument with an eco loon. Laughing 2006MY 4.2 SC

I’d probably have gone on a less amicable tack more along the lines of what the f**k has it got to do with you?, then ask her if she’s so wants help being less uptight the hospital is that way to go and get the stick removed.

Hottest winter on record and guess what, not an ounce of appreciation of our efforts towards global warming
