Deployable Steps - User Guide

I’ve tried several searches, and even Google cant help..

Does anybody have a copy of the user guide for the L322 Deployable steps?

Specifically, I’m looking for instructions on how to remove them; as if for jacking, thus allowing me to clean and hopefully properly lubricate them.

I know you have to remove a couple of Allen screws, and I have the key to do that. The problem is that I’m not sure which ones to remove. I can see two per bracket. One on the moveable section, which I think are the ones to remove, and one on the fixed section.

Any clarification of a manual would be most helpful.
Many thanks.

Yes Stan, I did try that.

I don’t have a user account, I’m not a dealer and tells me to contact Customer Services.

It does advise me that user manuals are available from the Land Rover JLR User Manual site. But this only goes back to 2016 and then helpfully advises you to go to Topix!

Many thanks, I have the fitting instructions. But I’m still confused as to what screws need to be removed for "jacking access"

Edit:
To properly lubricate I would recommend ro remove the entire assembly, remove drive motor from assembly, use oil of preference, not grease or water dispersant, and thoroughly lubricate all movable joints while moving the hinges. These have press-fit soft metal bushings, and no grease will penetrate into these surfaces, "Multi purpose penetrating oil" usually last only for a very short period.

You'll feel a difference when all parts are moving freely. You'd probably also notice excessive play on the driver door side hinge joints. This method will also allow you to properly set the wedge upon re-assembly. 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

Fig 119 on stans fitting instructions, look at the LHS where the hinge meets the step, the screw/bolt is illustrated as the small dome underneath... There are two on each hinge so 4 per side... Thumbs Up

Many thanks to you all. I think I’ve got it now, and even better, some tips on proper lubrication.

I would suggest you soak the bolts multiple times with WD40 for some days before you attempt removal and only use a good quality allen key socket to move the bolts as they are prone to rounding off being allen keys! I changed all of mine to stainless torq bolts and greased them liberally before installation... Thumbs Up
