Westfalia / LR Towbar Armature diffs Pre & Post 2006

I want to fit 1 of the Westfalia / Land Rover tow bars to our Nov 2006 3.6TDV8 (2007MY)
For my very infrequent towing, I can't justify the price of a new one, so I'm looking at used items via eblag.

My problem is that both Westfalia & Land Rover appear to have different Part Nos for the Pre & Post 2006 armatures, but many of the adverts list the armature as fitting everything from 2002 ~ 2010.
Towbars for the earlier Pre 2006 appear to be a bit more common & therefore cheaper.

The Westfalia fitting instructions show a very slightly different picture for the exhaust mounting area but it's not clear how the parts differ.

Does anybody know what the differences could be & whether they really are interchangable ? Paul,

There was a change in the mounting brackets for the exhaust. If you search for "exhaust hangers" on the forum you will get some information.

AFAIK if you get an earlier used one you can still work round it. If you are buying new get the one specified for your MY.

PF Jones was where I have bought mine. John

+1 for PF Jones. Fitted my last 2 L322's and I got the one with the removable 2" receiver not the one in the pic above as had that on my first L322 and hated it. Yes it clanks about a bit when in use especially with a light nose-weight but for very occasional towing, its great as the rest of the time, nothing is there. Current: RR L322 2010

Thanks guys.
Looks like I've got a few options to work with.
Hopefully allow me to find something at less than the ludicrous prices some advertisers are asking for new items.

PF Jones understood as best source for new parts ! Paul,

The post on here with some chaps stripping out a supercharged RR to make it a track day car.
They had the complete assembly which they may be looking to sell?

Not sure on suitability etc?
