spare plug in battery compartment?

Anyone know what this plug is for?

I cant remember if it already had the plastic spade / blanking plug on it or if i connected them? I spotted it last friday whilst fitting my deployable steps, seems like it would be too much coincidence for the plug and plastic spade bit to be in there together and not be connected?

I think it is the power socket for the fan unit that is fitted on the back of the batter charging module, but is not fitted on later cars, after end of 2011 I think.

I can't make out where the leads go, but I wonder if it could be a connector for the transportation relay. These are removed just prior to the vehicle being collected by the first owner and they may leave the connector in place. It does look to have an "official" blank on it. Cheers

That sounds interesting what is a transportation relay?

It’s difficult to see where the leads go for sure.

Do you think this could be anything to do with fbh? Or is the lead too far away to be connected ?

I don't think it has anything to do with the FBH, but I can't look as she's in for a little paintwork. Be a few days.

Link to the subject. Look for MJDronfields post and other links in that.
