Considering buying a FFRR

Hi, I’m going to view in the flesh a 2014 (63 plate) Vogue SE 3.0v6 on Monday, it’s a one owner car with full specialist service history and it’s currently done 76000 miles. I’ve owned a couple of discovery’s (1994 & 9Cool and the wife had an 06 free lander, so am familiar with some of the joys of running Land Rovers!
However I’ve had my Audi A4 (2012) for five and a half years now with barely any extra expenses ( £500 for some sort of engine management fault and a spring snapped)
Will this car (one that I have always wanted) remind me of the problems of the past? Or have Land Rover managed to get a bit better? This is a private sale so no warranty etc but the seller seems genuine.
What’s the thoughts from you guys running similar.
Cheers Mac

I would not own a car as complex as a FFRR without a warranty, no matter how good the car looks etc. Anything goes wrong, and even the most reliable do sometimes, it will cost a great deal of money. You are not buying a Ford (no offence meant!!) All LR cars from 1984

Thanks Chalky, it’s about £8k cheaper than dealers, but yeah don’t want the thing costing me that in repairs if it all goes pear shaped!

I think you can if you pay for dealer to inspect the vehicle and then for them to rectify any problems. It's not the worst idea to get them to inspect it before buying anyway. I think I paid about £250 for a RR Sport a few years ago, no doubt gone up now.

I’ll look into that, I wasn’t aware that was an option. Cheers

Warranty Direct are very good, in my opinion. Very easy to deal with and they include wear and tear. You can get a quote online.

When buying a warranty check the garage that you to take it to will accept that company warranty work and labour cost?
The warranty I paid for was rubbish, I would have got better cover from a plastic sheet Big Cry
