Swap Deployable Steps?

I have a MY16 LWB with deployable steps and looking at moving to a MY18 LWB without them.

To get steps fitted to newer car is £3.5k which seems quite a lot.

As I have already got the mechanical bits on the current car could I just unbolt them (and bracketry) and supply to the dealer to be added to the new car - all they need to supply is electonics? Or are there chassis differnces that make that a non-starter?
