Hi all, this is my first post. Hope to get some quick advice ahead of a purchase decision.

Yesterday I took this 2009 V8 HSE to my local (Netherlands) garage for a used vehicle inspection.

The vehicle comes from The UAE and is GGC spec. Now to my surprise, the mechanic claimed that the engine is the BMW M62 and not the Jag AJ-V8 that should be in the 2009 facelift model. He couldn’t find an emblem but suggested that certain parts in the car (gas pedal etc.) give it away.

I contacted the seller and asked about it. The seller told me that “face lift models in the US and UAE were delivered with this (BMW) engine even after 2005.

I could not find any reference to that different motorization online. Any expert advice is highly appreciated, as the car is otherwise in good condition...at the same time, something smells fishy.

Could it be as simple as asking for a photo of the engine -- folk here would be able to tell you for sure then which engine it is -- as to if it was supplied with that engine, that's a different story! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

That's not a 4.4 BMW Sir

It's a 4.4 AJV8 from the VIN number, see reference here: -
