21" Wheels to 22" Wheels

Morning all,

Time for new tyres and it's looking more economical to buy a set of wheels with tyres on and flogging my old ones. Will it be a straight swap from 21" to 22" or will there be some fettling to do?

Stick to 21'', I had 22'' and it felt really stiff and of course they are more prone to curb scratches.
21'' is the sweet spot between 20 and 22''. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

My 22’s fit fine but I found their vulnerability to kerbing damage quite nerve-wracking at times. I’ve gone back to 20’s and the ride is more cushioned. 2006MY 4.2 SC

Don't listen to them - 22's all the way Rolling with laughter

It's been much debated - each size has their fans - and I love my 22's

22's have a slightly firmer ride, but also less roll on the sidewalls and suit a particular driving style known as 'pressing on'

I've had all 3 on mine and am so happy with 22's that I have 2 sets of them - I run winter tyres on 22 as well as summers.

They also look Cool IMHO

Conversely, the 20’s completely rid the car of that nasty tendency to tramline in lorry ruts, while also allowing you to pick whatever line you want to without having to allow for (and correct for )bad road surfaces Thumbs Up

I dropped down from 22's to 20's.

The 22's looked better and were fine on motorways etc but around town they were awful due to pot holes etc, plus as mentioned really prone to curbing / cracking.

The 20's didn't look as nice and they introduced a bit of body roll but were much easier to live with and a lot more forgiving than the 22's.

I think as mentioned above ,21's are the perfect inbetween.
