Hi,

i've got a MK4 DVD unit that's draining my battery. It won't shut down. I can see the red light illuminated after the car goes to sleep. No drain using the original MK3 unit. Not a big issue but i do prefer the MK4 graphics so does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Pull it, dismantle it, have a look at the circuit board for corrosion, if so, clean with contact cleaner and toothbrush (preferably SWMBO's!) .

All was working OK with the Mk3 unit ?

Mk3 > Mk4 should be plug and play ? .

Yes, works perfect. It's all plug and play. The mk4 was also working fine, but my battery became weaker so I noticed that the mk4 didn't go to sleep. Put the mk3 back in and that solved the drain problem. 2002 Range Rover Td6

If you can it might be worth trying a Firmware update. Do you happen to know what version the Firmware is?

Got the latest one, V32 with RR splash screen. Think i'll try to re-install the firmware. Hopefully that helps.

Can't help with the mk3 satnav, I have the mk 4 as well.

Installed stock firmware on it now, but it didn't help. Tok it apart afterwards and cleaned it with contact cleaner and toothbrush hoping it could help, but that didn't solve it either.

Anybody know if it works well to do some re-wiring to cut the power to it when igition is swiched off, and the easiest way to do it? 2002 Range Rover Td6
