2016 L405. On uneven roads, when the shell flexes, there is a knock from somewhere around the B pillar or rear door on the passenger side.

I've heard that the RRS had some issues in that area, but is there a common cause of this knock? I'd booked in for a couple of weeks time, but I am curious as to whether this is a common issue.

No Knocking problems with mine.

Check the seat belts are secured.

You mean so they're not flapping about and bashing the interior? It was the first thing I checked!

I hear a strange noise from the rear of my 17MY when I reverse off the drive. It sounds as if the fuel is sloshing from side to side with a muffled bonk sound. It's only apparent when I first move and doesn't seem to continue beyond this manoeuvre. It is as if something has rolled across the boot possibly. There's nothing in the boot btw.

I know exactly what you mean and when I first got the car it drove me nutty wondering about what this was. I think the wondering was worse than the noise - if you know what I mean!

One of the contributors on here speculated that it could be the on-board Hi-Fi going through its warm up sequence (Subwoofer perhaps - I have the 1700w system).

Alternatively I wondered if it was air suspension related.

So...

Is it a tapping sound rather than a knocking because i had this problem with my RRS SVR. I took it into the stealership and they followed instructions off LR Technical.
Basically they stripped down the inside of the pillar and squirted lubricant onto the inside of it

To be honest, it occurred from day 1 and after they done it i never had a problem again had the car for about a year.

It kind of is a tapping sound and I can well imagine a panel joint causing it as it moves.

I would also imagine that if the car had sensible sized wheels instead of 22 inch with low profile tyres that the ride would be sufficiently soft that it would not do it at all.
