United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Stornoway Grey
2009 Westie

Here's my FFRR - 2009 Westminster 3.6 TDV8. As you'll see, it's in need of a good clean.

Had it just about a month and had a few issues at first but fingers crossed all good at the moment (apart from ropey TV reception and crackly BT reception)

There was 51k miles when I got it, now up to 53k. Came with a full LR history in the book and obviously been well cared for by the one previous owner who had it from new.

Even though it let me down on the way home from collection, I love it to bits. Turned out to be a fuel filter issue which is now sorted. I love the colour and I love the non-tinted windows. The wheels, I'm OK with but might get a more updated style at some point

I've replaced the worn out mats with rubber ones, got a rubber boot liner, updated the SatNav map to 2018 and had a rather natty tracker fitted that allows me to track the car's position on a phone app, sends me instant alerts if it moves out of a defined area and gives me daily reports on it's movements. I can also disable the car with a text message should it get stolen. I've had to strip down the front foglights as they were misted up from the inside - surprisingly easy to take apart and clean out, working fine now. Also sorted a wonky parking sensor just by popping it out and re-seating the cables. Thanks to the PowerfulUK youtube channel for those two easy fixes!

Fuel economy is showing around 27mpg which is fine by me, I keep it fed on a BP Ultimate as much as possible. Driving is mainly motorway/dual carriageway to/from work a couple of times a week.

Next expense will likely be a set of new tyres, current ones looking a little worn and am probably going to up to 55 profile Scorpion Verdes or General Grabbers - will decide in a few months. Also got my eye on a GAP IID BT tool at some point.

SWMBO was a little unsure at first - "Why you buying a 10 year old car?" but she's coming around to it slowly - loves the lofty driving position and the comfort of the seats. Fingers crossed she'll grow to love it as much as I do.

Anyway, here's the pics.

That’s a nice FF. I think the wheels look good with that colour, but it’s your car. Just give it a thorough clean and enjoy it. The IID tool comes up now and again but don’t forget the Disco3 & RRsport site form more opportunity of getting a 2nd hand one, currently around the £325 posted mark. Thumbs Up

Steve.

I have one the same - also just stuck the 2018 maps in BUT - with the 2008-2009 DVD I get voice control, with the 2018 DVD it's gone Surprised Can you check yours?

Mine has er ... slightly more miles on the clock, just run in at 147,000 miles (12,000 of which I have done since I bought in October!). I can recommend 275/45/20 Cooper Zeons for tyres - they are *amazing* - MUCH better than the General. Land Rover Addict

Hadn't noticed voice control wasn't working TBH, but just double checked:

2018 DVD in - voice control not working
2009 DVD in - voice control works fine.

I think I'll just stick with the older maps and voice control (if only just for the "screen off" command) and use phone for bang up to date nav data if I really it need it that badly. 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)

Hi,

Thanks for the confirmation! Just so you know if you get an IID - no matter what setting you change the Car Config to for voice control - it does nothing with the 2018 disc .... Land Rover Addict

Good to know on the IID thing.

Was your 2018 disc an official LR one, or a....<ahem> "not so official one"

Mine was £25 from somewhere online, doubt it is an actual LR one. Wondering if the official update ones keep the voice control functionality? 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)

Mine was the same as yours Wink

Who knows - it's not supported any more so ....

Amusingly my Westie has carpets, rubber mats and er ... another set of rubber mats over those! When I bought it the guy said he used it a little bit offroad for shooting. When I popped the rear bumper off to sort the parking sensors the bumper was FULL of hard packed mud (as was the front).

So it's seen a lot of offroad use which is great (for me) as it would have got a nasty shock otherwise! Land Rover Addict

I thought all Westminsters were 2012 cars, as it was a run model? Did they make them earlier than that?

DMRR do you have an IID tool?

Out of interest how far are you from Rushden?

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver

Stan

Sorry to hijack but where did you get that list from? I see it lists the 4.2 as an autobiography. I have a 2007 but thought it was a Vogue SE. Do they also do a 2007 4.2 Autobigraphy? I’m confused as to what spec I have and what was available in 2007.

The 4.2SC was badged as an Autobiography in 2006 (i.e. it IS a Vogue SE with all the toys) - I think in 2007 they dropped the RSE which makes it an SE?

Very confusing Smile Land Rover Addict
