Advice on sinking Westie

Hi all,

So my 2012 RR is irregularly sinking on the nearside rear. Sometimes in the morning it's slightly low, then whilst parked at work on a very slight incline, it usually sits low by the end of the day. However after the drive home, it seems level again.

I rang my local MD, as the car still has LR warranty, and they recommended calling LR assist and getting the car collected to them as a fast track way of getting it in.

My worry is that the car doesn’t do it every time its parked for a 6-8 hours, sometimes in the morning its fine. I don’t want to leave the car with an MD for a week for them to say ‘its fine’. Starting it up levels it out, so it could correct itself during loading to a dealer!

Equally, if its going to get worse, then I should deal with it – especially as its the main transport for our new baby.

Any words of advice?

Thanks!

If you get hold of the wheel arch and lift the car against the suspension you may detect a slight hiss (and not just from your muscles) could be a hole in the bag, I had it on my 2006 on the front and I could make it hiss by flexing the suspension.

Failing that if you have a decent jack, lift that corner up high enough to let the suspension hang low and you may hear the hiss then.

Entirely possible for a tiny pin hole to leak but not really badly. Only thing is the longer it goes on, the more wear on your compressor.

Good luck! Thumbs Up Formerly happymadison1978

You can also try listening as it changes height the bags can crack and leak where it folds so extending to full height can let the hole be more noticeable try that

Full suspension height and a soapy solution spray. Its likely a pin hole in the bag. Mine has done it since I bought it but its so slow to go down ive not bothered replacing it. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal
