Blower strength when A/C is on manual

Just had my final stage resistor replaced after the blower fan stopped working. Now it works but I've noticed the force of the air coming out the vent at the bottom of the windscreen (back of the dashboard) doesn't change much even when I put the blower on full.

Is this normal? I seem to remember the force of the air coming out that vent changes as you adjust the blower control when in manual mode. But now the force of the air hardly changes when the blower is manually adjusted even though you can clearly hear the blower fan increase/decrease in speed.

When I activate one or more of the three feet/face/head air direction controls you then get the air speed expected of the blower setting. However I previously never had to use those controls to receive air into the cabin at the blower setting I want in manual mode. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black
