Not wishing to state the obvious, but I can’t see that anyone else has mentioned it. Have you tried A-Plan, one of the site sponsors.

They have insured my car for the last couple of years. No tracker requirement and competitively priced.

Try Tesco, they are usually very competitive, for new business, but not good for existing customers.

You do need to hammer A-Plan -- I actually got cheaper quotes from elsewhere, but took that back to A-plan and they got within £20 -- so went with them -- no tracker required Smile -- They placed me with Markerstudy (new name for Zenith)

Have to say they've been pretty good since someone decided it was a good idea to write-off a Citreon C1 into the back of me at 40MPH whilst I was stationary! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Just shows the difference countrywide, I pay less than that for 3 vehicles inc. the Fattie. Thumbs Up

Just run it through a couple of comparison sites, give yourself a decent baseline price. Try adding in other drivers and see what difference it makes and move the mileage around (within a realistic range) to get the price down.

You'll rarely get the best prices by ringing companies, there best will be online, and they won't tell you about their lower offers.

Also, try to figure out why so many companies are insisting on a tracker. Even in my 20's, no company has ever asked me to have one, something has definitely spooked them for several to suggest it.

I live in a posh but very high risk area apparently (N6) plus have no driveway, which loads my premium.

I’m with Zenith, no tracker. Previously with Direct Line who demanded tracker (but my tracker went kaput so...). Zenith was cheaper regardless.
Performance-direct broker was cheaper than A-plan by well over 10% for the same Zenith policy 2 years on the bounce now, but I will try A-plan every year until they’re cheaper! A-plan Thatcham are soooo much nicer to deal with than performance-direct, it’s like M&S vs Asda. Or it’s like A-plan brings a gun to the customer-service-knife-fight. I can give you more analogies if required! Thumbs Up

I’ve been with Tesco for the past 3 years, since Admiral tried the old auto renewal stealth plan to bump up the premiums on a multi-car policy.

Directline have consistently demanded a tracker but no other companies have.
