Do you think so? I really wasn't sure on price. The gearbox rebuild was at an authorised ZF agent and came to £3.5k. It was bought for family trips and snowy adventures that sadly are not going to happen now.

I'm in Durham City.

We may be travelling around the North a bit though in a few weeks to take our mind off things. Trouble is that knocks the miles up doesn't it?

Thankyou for your well wishes. Its a lovely example, doesnt look or drive anywhere near the mileage, it just holds too many associations. It will not fulfil its role as a weekend toy and I couldnt keep pace with the fuel as a daily runner due to the length of my commute.

In answer to private message questions and an appraisal of negative points;

It has had a full change of undercarriage oils, but needs an engine oil/filter change as the service light has popped up.

The tailgate has some rust coming through underneath just beginning to show on the edges. I was keeping my eye open for a breaker near me long term as I understand the older ones were far better.

Arches show some surface corrosion but are pretty good compared to most I've seen and decades away from being structural. I can take specific pictures if you like.

Tyres are good except one rear which has a wear stripe on the outer edge. Spare has a puncture which I think was a dirty trick by the dealer I bought it off (certainly didnt have one when I looked at it!).

No appreciable wear to drivers seat bolster - I think the fitment of side steps saved these however much I don't like the look of them!

I hope the price reflects these things.

Yes I agree this London ULEZ thing is skewing prices countrywide when it doesn't need to.
