Warning

a few day ago, my front brakes developed vibration under braking and since I have disks already machined once = it was time to get new ones. After some research I settled on a par of *TEXTAR Pro+* coated disks.





I wanted new pads to go with new disks to. Parts store salesman told me they had new *Jurid White* ceramic pads and I opted to try them (only 5 pounds sterling more).



Two days ago, new disks and pads installed, proper bedding in administered and 150 miles later no dust on the wheels.





But as the saying goes = there is no such a thing as a free lunch= braking is at best mediocre. No matter how hard I braked I could not activate ABS at the front wheels.
So it looks like I am going back to cleaning dust of the wheels. Installed regular Jurid pads and I have brakes again. Smile

EBC pads are better Nino.

I went for Greenstuff a few months back, although I do have less dust there is still dust. Maybe 50% reduction.

Braking performance is claimed to be a lot better, they certainly feel 'strong'.

Others have gone for Yellowstuff or Redstuff.
Check out their website to get more detail on the differences.

Greg, I did go with EBC Yellow but they developed loud squealing. I am gonna stick with Jurid for now. I have coated wheels with Nano, so cleaning is easy. 2012 TDV8 Black Edition

it might take more than 150 miles for the pads to 'bed in' and give you improved braking...

Put all round EBC Greenstuff on L405 with new genuine LR discs last year. When the car was recently into the MD for a service, they pointed out the new but non genuine pads on the health check video and advised they might cause brake squeal Rolling Eyes

There is less brake dust, they perform as well as if not better than previous including genuine pads and there is no brake squeal. Excellent Thumbs Up

this is the bedding in procedure that I always do with new pads/rotors and with adicional ~ 130 miles, there will not be any noticeable improvement in braking.

RECOMMENDED ON VEHICLE BEDDING IN PROCEDURE
Breaking-in
Creating a perfect contact-pattern between rotor and brake pad surface.

10 stops with low pressure and low temperature from 150 km/h (90 MPH) to approximately 80 km/h (50 MPH).

Distance between each brake stop approximately 600 – 800 meters (600 to 800 yards).

Heating-up
Warm up in order to initiate some core heat in the whole brake system.

A sequence of 5 stops with medium to high pressure from 180 km/h (112 MPH) to approximately 60 km/h (37 MPH) with maximum acceleration between the stops.

After the last stop cool down for 3 minutes with the speed preferably not higher than 100 km/h (62 MPH).

Recovery Stops
3 to 5 stops with low pressure from 150 km/h (90 MPH) to approximately 80 km/h (50 MPH).

Distance between each brake stop approximately 600 – 800 meters (600 to 800 yards). "

Luckily we have plenty of rods where to do this without losing ones drivers licence. Very Happy
in UK one may need to pay for some time on the race track. Crying or Very sad

agree thats the procedure, i'm just saying that a longer period of use might result in better stopping....
