Gearbox filter

Hi all,

I seemed to remember on the forum that there was a general view to go for genuine LR filter pan when changing the gearbox oil. Dan's informed me that they can't source them anymore as they're obsolete, so I could just get a cheap Britpart item.

Has anyone used them, and if not, is it worth hunting down one of the proper parts if I can find them, or is it fine to go with Britpart?

Thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about alternative filters to LR original. Having seen a couple of these filters they are fairly coarse in terms of filtration. They seem to me to be made for taking lumps out of the oil rather than small particles.
I have to admit to having reservations about britpart though having returned a number of items over the years as not fit for purpose.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. I've gone for the Meyle one, seems to be a great price, thanks for the headsup
