Tail lights always on

For some reason my tail lights are always illuminated when I drive the car, regardless of if the lights are turned off or not.
I fully appreciate the DRLs being on when driving but never had a car where the tail lights are also always illuminated.

I took the car into the dealers today to sort another issue out and asked them about the lights and they said it was normal and they all did that.

Mine is a MY17 car if that makes any difference.
Are the dealers correct, do you all have this on your cars.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that, bloody strange but not worried if it’s supposed to be like that. 2008 RRS HST - loved the car from 6 months old until a few years old
