Driving and steering locked

Hi Ali I have a l322 which my daughter was using the other day and she tells me the steering locked as she was pulling off the drive and she had to stop switch ignition off/ on to sort it out. I've not heard of this issue before.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Standard key or after market flip key ? Had something similar when I got a flip key and the chip wasnt quite near enough the coil on the switch to pick it up.

Yes it is a original key I don't really understand how this could happen I have a diagram of the mechanism in front of me and it shouldn't be possible.
