3rd/4th Gearbox Problem

Hi All,

I've had a search on this but no results that match, so apologies in advance if this has been answered before.

I have an 06 Supercharged which has started having issues on 3rd to 4th changes which eventually result in it going into "Transmission Fault" mode and logging a code for 3/4 Selection.

In manual mode the change to 4th is noticeably slower than any other gear but does not result in a fault. In auto mode at low speed where 3 / 4 changes are common it will eventually go into fault mode.

I've found a TSB detailing this problem with a software update fix but considering it had a gearbox oil change around 20K ago but has over 100K miles on it now it probably is about time for a rebuild/mechatronic unit. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good specialist to deal with this in the Bedford/MK/Silverstone area?

All help much appreciated! Smile

You'll find lots of useful threads on here if you do a search. These two might help:

In terms of recommendations, have a search through RRPhil's other posts. I seem to recall he has mentioned a few places. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
