Coolant Leak. Water Pump Leaking.

Have been topping up a bit of coolant occasionally. So whilst it was in for MOT today at a local Indie, I asked them to pressure test the system to see where the leak was.

Turned out to be the water pump leaking. So a new water pump will be fitted.

Now for my question:

Does anyone have a schematic showing the location of, or even an image of the correct water pump, please?

Not that don't trust them, but I'd like to look under the bonnet and see a nice, shiny, new water pump when I pick it up - just to be sure Confused

I have looked in the Wiki, but my 2006 AJ-V8 doesn't seem to be listed. One Wiki entry listed for a V8 Coolant System is 2002-2005 and the pictures/images are missing.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks WB. Got some idea now about what it looks like.

Where is sited if I look under the bonnet? Is it possible to see if it looks new or not?

From the look of this pic, the fan or viscous coupling bolts onto it - look between the fan and the engine.

Not sure exactly where it is on your engine but they’re typically just about visible at the front of the engine towards the bottom. I have asked to have the old parts if I’m not sure about the garage/mechanic doing the work - might be worth doing that?

Not sure if this is your engine but looking at pix on the 'net, I'm not sure you'll be able to see it without removing the engine cover.

However, if it is, check at the 15 and 50 second marks. The thing between and below the red plugs and with the ribbed pulley is the water pump. Ron B. VK2OTC
