Hi Folks

Well I have placed my order as already mentioned on the “Orders” forum and kind of made my mind up on Bosporus Grey but have a few days to change my mind prior to getting the build date etc.

So have tried to find a pic of an actual car in several colours as opposed to looking on the LR site and at the dealers looking at squabs/small painted upside down butter tubs etc but cant find any in the following;

Windward Grey
Desire Deep Red
Eiger Grey

Anyone on here got one in any of the above and can either post a pic or email me some?

My dealer was telling me about a chap that ordered an SVA in Aston colours at a cost of £47k and when it arrived it was not quite what he wanted/agreed so rejected the car - it sat with the dealer for months as they tried to sell it or palm it off to other dealers lol

Anyway, not going down the route of a none LR colour and at £4500 for the colour chosen and the same cost for 2 of the 3 alternatives mentioned above I think I will stick with LR options  "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Poor dealer  All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

IMHO you'd need to keep it for a while for it to make sense - paint must be valued at zero (at best) on the trade in / resale price.

Alistair, I have not got it yet so certainly not thinking about selling it lol

Like the Eiger grey....it's got my initials on too!!!  All LR cars from 1984

I recall years ago, when I ordered a new Porsche Boxster, I overheard a conversation between another customer and salesman.

It went along the lines of -

Salesman, "So what colour would you like?"
Customer, "I love the bright yellow"
Salesman, "Brave choice"

And under his breath, he was probably saying "good luck trying to shift that, when you come to sell it!" Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Love some of the bright colours but just think they will be very difficult to sell on in a few years time so gonna stick with a traditional colour - I do like the Eiger Grey but still think Bosphorus Grey is just that little bit special

Bosphorous is a striking colour in direct sunlight, having a distinct blue hue. However when overcast, it fades to a more muted grey. This photo was taken in the showroom so the colour resembles that under sunlight.

I love Bosphorus but all the "expensive" colours will be worth nowt extra come resale so I think I'm just gonna go with standard or one of the 950 options as tbh 4500 for a bit of paint seems mad when in all honesty someone could wrap it for 1200 quid no doubt and you could change your colour ever year for 4 years at that rate.......hmmmmm.........thats not a bad idea........lol....fuji white it is......

Just about to order my P400e after testing one on Sat at Pentland.

I wanted to consider the SVA but the depreciation figures made me vomit into my mouth a bit, so gonna just look at a business lease for a VSE I reckon and buy a toy next year when values settle on things. all smug in my new plug!

If residual is important i would stick to standard LR colours like this
