InControl - Tracker and Subscriptions?

I have just purchased a MY17 I assume (Nov 17 build) L405 for my wife.

I have all the Topix data but how do I find out which system of InControl it has and how good it is, do these cars have trackers in this system to avoid having to have one fitted. It is an SV car so I'm hoping it has everything although it doesn't have the HUD which is a shame, I assume these weren't standard?

On Topix it says: INCONTROL APPS

Also is InControl free for 3 years then subscription after that etc.? 1994 Range Rover LSE Autobiography

You should have 'In Control Secure' which is LR's Thatcham 6 tracker system. It requires payment of a subscription, but the first three (I think) years are included in the original price. So you should get a demand from LR in 2020 if yours is a 17 car. You can download a certificate of installation from the LR website, searching for the In Control Secure bit and entering your VIN number. Some insurers expect a certificate of installation from a third party, as trackers are generally post-manufacture, and need a further explanation as to installation during manufacture to accept it.

The In Control Apps bit requires a SIM card (data only). There are various services including Spotify. I looked at them and decided I could not be bothered. Other people may be able to tell you what they are like. For the avoidance of doubt you don't need the SIM card to have In Control Secure. The IC Apps also require a subscription, and again the initial period (maybe only a year) is included in the initial price (if I remember right). Only Range Rovers since 1988

I purchased an approved used MY17 and all the secure functions are included until it becomes 3 years old, it’s then £240 to renew.

I had CarPlay retrofitted as well as a software upgrade and have purchased a data sim for the bits associated with it and also the WIFI hotspot.

Its 3 years from when its first registered so if you are lucky enough (like on the wife's disco sport) that the original owner didn't register it, you get 3 years from when you do.

Is that £240 per year? Current: RR L322 2010
Past: RR L405 2017, RR L322 2012, 2008 & 2004, 2018 D5, 2016 Defender, 2011 D4, a few Disco2s, P38, RR Classic, couple of Disco1's, SIII SWB

I purchased Approved Used at six months. All the subscriptions were paid up for three years from then, ie so that they will expire when the car is three years six months old. 2016 SDV8 AB

Our subscriptions have expired on a Approved used, has anyone been able to renew just the remote premium portion?

They are listed as separate subscriptions in the app, but LR seem to insist if the Secure Tracker is fitted it has to all be renewed £36 vs £260. I literally only want the remote premium for the park heater control, our insurers offer no discount for a tracker being fitted/active and we have other solutions in place.
