2008 TD V8 3.6 Apple Car Play possible?

Hello all,

I’ve owned the above car since new. It’s done over 110k miles. Remarkably most of these have been trouble free!

However, I miss Apple Car Play from my father’s car.

Is there a way to enable Apple Car Play in my TDV8? A new head unit etc? I’ve tried searching the forums but there doesn’t seem to be a clear answer. It would have to interface with the Harmon Kardon stereo and reversing camera.

Max budget would be up to £600.

Thanks

SS

There is a company called navtool that offers an Apple carplay compatible solution for your model.

Hope this helps!

This looks ideal.

Thank you Mariana.

Do you know anyone that has installed this, or could install it for me in Scotland? It seems quite simple

Have you seen the You Tube vieo they have produced? Demonstrates the use and, in the second part, fitting.

I looked at getting it but it didn't justify for me the cost of about £600 with the current exchange rate. That was with their "August sale".

I am using Android and the presentation on Android Auto didn't stir me. The iphone mirroring - showing the phone apps - looked fine but had its limitations (Apple Maps?) and still didn't justify the cost. John
