Brake Servo - severed non-return valve...

Hello everyone,

This afternoon, I experienced an issue with my car where the brakes were not functioning properly. I noticed that even when the car was in gear and creeping, it was unable to come to a complete stop. Upon inspection, I discovered that the non-return value at the base of the verso had completely split from the hose. The peddle is rock hard. Here is a picture for reference:

You can see the hole where the tube used to be connected to.

I have a few questions regarding this issue. Firstly, can this part be pulled out in a forward motion? Additionally, I have been unable to locate the part number and was wondering if anyone here knows it. Lastly, is it possible that this part is a universal item shared amongst other car models?

Since the car is currently unusable and my in-laws will be visiting on Saturday, I would greatly appreciate any help in resolving this issue as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,

Looks like another case of age failed plastic parts. AFAIK the valve comes as part of the whole hose assembly as mine is leaking vac overnight and I looked into replacing it. Tricky to get to and you may need a special tool to lever it out of the servo housing.

Thank you for your help, GayJee.

I contacted Rimmer Bros and they confirmed your information. It's frustrating that the valve can be replaced, but it's not sold separately. I'll need to spend around €130 to get it.

Based on its appearance and my research on Google, the valve seems to be made by a German manufacturer for BMW and has a logo of an 'A'. It definitely has a BMW-esque look to it.

The hose is a hard plastic and heat bonded / shrunk to the fittings so likley why it's not a separate part but that doesn't mean you can't find a similar part and connect it to the hose by other means. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Did you fix it OK? I've just replaced the valve (had to make a tool to extract it) and joined it to the existing pipe with some rubber hose. The old valve shows a slow leak when on my 'Milty vac' but will know for sure when I start it up on Monday. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

We did a temporary fix, a plastic pipe bridge between the pipe and valve. A double male fitting, I think water irrigation piping!

It worked fine but I wasn’t content ‘bodging’ a brake component, so replaced the whole line…160€.

An easy fit a couple of days ago.

It’s the third broken plastic pipe in a week, heat fatigue failures. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

I did this a couple of weeks ago
My pipe had snapped at the base.
I took a valve from a servo from a D2(exactly the same) cut the pipe with the old bit inside, then i heated the pipe and pushed it on tight.

I'm still loosing vacuum out of the servo when parked for more than a day so it wasn't the valve even though it was leaking. I can live with it though. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
