Cluster swap?

I am having problems with my illumination of my cluster and climate module

If I swap my cluster with a used one I know the mileage will be wrong but should it all work so I can quickly see if it works?

If it does I can swap the mileage chips over so it’s correct but don’t want to mess about with that unless it fixes it Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

Dan - which one are you talking about? The BMW ones you can definately change and they will work to a point (although the tamper dot will be displayed on the mileage and they are VIN coded (and diesel and petrol clusters are slightly different) but they will work.

Not sure about the Jaguar ones though.

Might just be easier to see if these guys can test and repair your existing one - https://cartronix.co.uk (used them to fix my gauges on the 2004 a while ago) Current Fleet:-

Just the jaguar one - the backlights aren’t working so was going to test if it was the cluster before wasting time coding it if it wasn’t... cheers Current stable:
