Part Identification Help Please.

I have oil weeping from somewhere on the nearside of my FF engine. It seems to be coming from this part (see Yellow circle in attached picture). Edit: It's on the side (nearside) towards the front upper part of the engine.

Can someone tell me what this part is/does please? And is it serious to fix (i.e. expensive Shocked )

Many thanks.

Its the Variable Valve Timing Solenoid seal , to replace the seal its cam cover off as getting it from the top is fraught with damaging issues

Just a quick update: I have been told (by the local Indie) that LR do not sell the Valve Timing Solenoid seal separately and so will necessitate purchasing a whole new cam cover (Or something expensive like that) if I want it fixed.

I'm not experienced enough to tell if this is correct. So slight oil weep continues for now.

Land Rover don't do them separate , but Jaguar do , and as its exactly the same engine and fit then you just use a Jag part number , the one you need is AJ82856

Hope this helps
