air bag light

Following a very difficult front wheel change that involved some serious hammering to the inner wheel rim to get it to come off, my air bag light has come on. No air bags have gone off. It may be a total coincidence but seems strange! Before taking it to Listers L R, anyone got any ideas why this might have happened?
