Hi all - without a code reader hat can reset engine adaptations I have done plenty of searching on various LR forums and people say you can remover the battery cables and short together then leave overnight and reconnect and engine adaptions will be cleared...

Anyone know if this is true for the S/c 4.2 as I have had a fair bit of work done...

What adaptations actually occur? Is the engine not constantly monitoring and adapting so even if you don't reset it, it will soon sort itself out?

it has the long term fuel trims which will tae a few hundred miles to update after changes have been made and the short term - which as you rightly say are live so to speak as far as im aware... Current stable:
